GM Bugs create crude oil

Through the miracles of Slashdot I noticed this today:

If it works (and it looks like it does) this could be such good news longterm for our stupid petrol prices…
..Or maybe that’s just me being a temporary idealist, and the government will use this as an excuse to up the duty ;)

    Petrol prices need to go up, not down.

    The roads are far too overcrowded. The more expensive petrol is the fewer cars there would be, the quicker my journeys would be.

    Only if the price stopped at an amount which perfectly fitted your paygrade and lifestyle. Chances are it would keep rising and you would be joining the masses walking/cycling/getting the bus to work.

    I admit the roads are somewhat crowded, however raising the price of petrol is not the way forward, if the above did not happen, then people would just spend less in other areas of life to keep driving, can you imagine stopping using a car?
